All children in the Pre-Prep enjoy several sports lessons a week led by specialist sports staff. Lessons include swimming, gymnastics, ball skills and dance in the Early Years. All year groups benefit from using the extensive sports facilities at the school including the Motcombe Park Sports Centre. We try to mirror, as closely as possible, the Port Regis sporting curriculum so as to thoroughly prepare the children for the next step in their sporting education. Year 2 sports teams play a few fixtures against local schools and the Pre-Prep Sports Day in the Summer Term is one of the highlights of the school year.
Sporting hobbies are available after school for children in Years 1 and 2 including fencing and tennis. Other hobbies available to children from Reception upwards include ballet, tap, modern dance, sports club, golf and chess.
Children in Years 1 and 2 may also learn a musical instrument including piano, recorder, percussion or violin, with specialist teachers.
