The Port Regis Library boasts over 11,000 books in very good condition. It occupies a very special room in the Mansion in the oldest part of the school and has a magnificent painted ceiling, a large mirror and wonderful south-facing views of the surrounding Dorset landscape.
Unlike most Prep schools, our library is open twenty four hours a day, seven days a week. Children are welcome to snuggle down into beanbags and enjoy a book or sit in the window seat and leaf through a magazine.
We have a constant injection of new titles and books thanks to the recommendations of pupils. A select number of readers are honoured with the title of ‘librarian’. They are allowed to help with important jobs in the library and occasionally get to support the reading of younger children, including those in the Pre-Prep.
A suite of computers is also available for the children to do their own independent research.
Magnificently equipped prep school and could easily be mistaken for a good public senior school.Good Schools Guide
