Children love to dance, paint, and construct imaginative models. We make sure they can do all these and much more. Our Pre-Prep and Nursery arts curriculum includes dance, music and art, as well as after-school clubs in everything from tap and ballet to chess and golf.
In the early years children sing and learn how to use simple instruments like tambourines and triangles. In Years 1 and 2 they can learn a musical instrument including piano. recorder, percussion, or violin.
Drama also plays a key role. As well as developing key speaking, listening and confidence skills, the Pre-Prep productions, led by Head of Drama, Lia Matthews, are a highlight for children and parents alike.
Our purpose-built Forest School is the perfect start to encouraging a love of the outdoors - an opportunity for children to study all those amazing mini-beasts and hone their gardening skills. We also organise lots of interesting trips, Exploration of our school grounds is a key part of learning in the Pre-Prep. Each week, the whole of Pre-Prep and Nursery venture outside to our purpose built forest school for Forest Fridays. We take special notice of the abundant wildlife which populates our school grounds, from woodpeckers and barn owls, to badgers and deer - plus our own school animals including sheep, chicken, rabbits and guinea pigs!
Our beautiful Rose Garden is at the centre of the school and not only provides a beautiful space for free play but is also home to our garden and greenhouse for growing a range of fruit and vegetables which are used in our kitchens.
Hobbies are available after school for children in Years 1 and 2 including fencing, tennis and modern dance. In the summer term, a selection of hobbies are also available to our children in Reception, including ballet, yoga and art.
Children in Years 1 and 2 may also learn a musical instrument including piano, recorder, percussion or violin, with specialist teachers.
